On June 9th, 1962 at 2 o’clock the Thorp Methodist Church became the setting for the exchange of marriage vows of Gretchen Marie Parks, daughter of Mrs. William Parks and Keith Glasshof, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Glasshof.

The couple was honored to have the service performed by their former Sunday school classmate, the Rev. Richard Alger, who is pastor at Wis. Dells. Rev. Alger is a former Thorp resident.

The bride proceeded down the aisle on the arm of her mother. The bridal gown was of nylon organdy over taffeta. The fitted bodice had three quarter length sleeves and a scoop neck collar covered with medallion. The bouffant skirt was pleated at the waist. The painted crown, hold a silk illusion veil was tipped with seed pearls. For her bouquet the bride chose pink roses, white stephanotis and Ivy.

Mrs. Louis Badzinski was her sister’s matron of honor in a street length dress of green silk Chiffon over taffeta with a square neckline and cap sleeves. Yellow and white daisies comprised her bouquet.

A friend, Harold Hallanger, was the groom’s attendant. Arthur Alger, brother-in-law of the groom, and John Klouda, a friend, acted as ushers.

The bride’s mother was attired in aqua with white accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. The groom’s mother attended in blue with white accessories and a corsage of white roses.

The young couple received their guests in the Thorp Finance Dining Hall.

Both are Thorp High School graduates. The bride was employed as cashier at the Thorp Finance Company’s home branch offe and will be employed by this firm at their Eau Claire office. The groom attended Eau Claire State College and is a University of Wisconsin graduate. At present he is employed as drainage basin engineer for the state board of health. Their new home is 221 1/2 Stanley St., chippea Falls, Wis.

Out of town guests were from Roselle and Chicago, Ill., St. Paul, Minn., Cincinnati, Ohio, Wausau, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Jim Falls, Holcombe, Grafton, Stanley, Madison and Milwaukee.
