Stoker, Villemonte H. (1903? - 7 MAY 1962)

Villemonte H. (Bill) Stoker, 58, of 410 Maple Ave., Madison, Wis., retired operator of the Hudson Park Pharmacy, died Monday night, May 7, 1962, at his home.

Deputy Coroner Clyde Chamberlain said that death was caused by a heart attack.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 9 in the Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, with the Rev. C.H. Fylling, pastor of Plymouth Congregational Church, officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Born in Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), Mr. Stoker graduated from Marquette University’s School of Pharmacy. He was employed at the Wolf Drug Store in Thorp and then operated the Hudson Park Pharmacy, 2337 Atwood Ave., Madison, for 28 years before retiring last year.

Mr. Stoker was a member of the Masons, Dane Co. Pharmaceutical Society, and the East Side Business Men’s Assn. He was widely known as the manager of many East side athletic teams.

He is survived by his wife, the former Pauline Bogumill of Thorp, whom he married in 1930; two daughters, Mrs. Edward Steetz, 2809 Center Ave., Madison, and Mrs. F. Semrad, 2709 Sommers Ave., Madison, and two sons, Tomas, Chicago, and William H. at home.

Mr. Stoker also is survived by his mother, Mrs. Phoebe Stoker, 2410 Sommers Ave., two sisters, Mrs. George Conant, Key West, Fla.; and Mrs. Joseph O’Connor, Chicago, and 10 grandchildren.

Relatives from out of town that attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Tom Polnaszek, Mrs. Helen Bogumill, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bogumill, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Blazel, Mrs. Theresa Pease, Miss Jean Herman, Robert Herman, all of Thorp; Mr. Stanley Manicke and Mrs. Lucy Manicke, Mrs. Malcolm Greschow, Theinville, Mrs. James Geddes, Colgate, and Paul Manicke, Waukesha, Byron and Leon Bogumill of Milwaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bogumill of Holcombe.
