Janke, Minnie (94th Birthday - 1967)

A birthday party honoring Mrs. Minnie Janke, 94, of Neillsville Memorial home was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Helen Cummings of Alma Center, Sunday. Birthday cake and a lunch were served to friends and relatives.

“Grandma” Janke is still very alert and is in good health. She enjoys auto rides through the country and visits with relatives and friends.

She was born in Germany and came to the Alma Center area when she was 18 years old. She made her home in the Alma Center area until moving to the Neillsville Memorial Home a few years ago.

Mrs. Janke has nine children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also has a brother, August Monthei, residing in the Jackson home at Black River Falls.

Delores Sammons and daughter, Ladysmith; Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Johnson, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Don Cowdry, Grand Ledge, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Erickson, Brillion; Mr. and Mrs. Don Frei, Mrs. Stella Frei, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Janke, Black River Falls; Don Frei and friend, Eau Claire; Mrs. Richard Johnson and children, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Duxbury, and Mrs. Sidney Davis, Merrillan; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Janke, Fairchild; Will Van Horn, Mrs. Emma Jacobson, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jacobson, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Janke, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Grunlien and children, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Janke, and Mrs. Roger Janke, all of Alma Center.
