Chubb, Emma (7 December 1887 - 26 February 1967)

Funeral services were held last week Tuesday afternoon in Marshfield for Mrs. Emma Chubb, 79, of the Town of Lynn, who died suddenly Sunday in Marshfield. She had been admitted to the hospital earlier in the day. The Rev. E. F. Messerschmidt officiated at services from Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Burial was made in the Zion American Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Grant.

Mrs. Chubb, the former Emma Nitschke, was born in the Town of Lynn December 7, 1887. She attended Lynn School. She remained in Lynn until 1912, at that time going to Milwaukee, where she remained for three years. She was a resident of the Town of Lynn and for four and one-half years, had made her home in Granton before moving to Marshfield.

Her first marriage was to Charles Helm on June 14, 1911. He died in 1931. On May 29, 1937, she was married to Clarence Chubb, who died in 1954. Mrs. Chubb was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant and its Ladies Aid society.

She is survived by a son, Robert Helm of Milwaukee; two daughters, Mrs. Victor (Dorothy) Schlafke of Marshfield and Mrs. Roman (Kathleen) Virnig of Rt. 1, Marshfield; a step-son, Leland Chubb of Greenwood; and by 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Those from the Granton area attending the service were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schutz, Mrs. Art Short, Mrs. Edna Rehorst, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Helm, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Weichelt, Mrs. Earl Chubb, Mrs. Ray Sternitzky, Mrs. John Grassman, Mrs. Bill Foote, Mr. and Mrs. George Wagner, Mrs. Elda Bartz, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Sternitzky, Mr. and Mrs. Adrain Virnig, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Helm, Mrs. Mamie Riedel, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Pietenpol, Mrs. Fred Grottke, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Grottke. Also attending were Mr. and Mrs. Art Drescher of Neillsville and Mrs. Irene Drescher and Wayne of rural Greenwood.
