The Standard Oil man was through her Friday.

Charles Whittam traded his farm recently to a party near Spencer.

Friday, while W.R. Happe was helping sharpen fence posts, a chip flew from the saw, striking him in the face, breaking the cheek bone and making an ugly cut underneath the eye. Dr. Housley has been caring for him.

Miss Clara Schmidtke is spending a few days with home folks.

Mrs. Singer and Mrs. Yankee visited with Mrs. Ernest Lee one day last week.

Mrs. Nate Drake spent Thursday and Friday at the Abe Harding and John Rollins homes.

Francis and Douglas Graham spent Sunday afternoon with the Davis girls.

Ernest Lee and family spent Sunday at Ara Lee’s.

Miss Esther Sparks is staying with her sister, Mrs. Reuben Fields this week.

Alvin Vandeberg called at Gordon Davis’ Saturday.

H.W. Davis spent from Thursday until Tuesday with friends at Chili, Marshfield and Loyal.

Miss Ora Davis spent Monday night at the Gordon Davis home.

Carl Happe sawed wood for W.W. Smith and the Schmidtke boys the first of this week.

Abe Harding, Nate and earl Drake drove to Black River Sunday to try their luck with the hook, but must be they left their luck at home, for they only got one little fish.

A spectacle agent was canvassing this neighborhood Tuesday.

Nate Drake and wife left the first of the week for their home at Maplehurst.
