Thoma, Kay Annette (Marriage - 21 January 1966)

Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturday evening in a candlelight service in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Globe uniting in marriage Miss Kay Annette Thoma, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Thoma of Neillsville, and Steven Clark Gress, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gress of Neillsville. Performing the double ring ceremony was the Rev. David Witte. Red carnations and white chrysanthemums were place on either side of the altar.

Kendall Smith sang, “O Perfect Love” and “The Lord’s Prayer,” accompanied at the organ by Karen Thoma. Mr. Thoma gave his daughter in marriage.

The bride chose for her wedding a Princess line, ankle-length dress of satin. The sleeveless gown was topped with a lined coat of raised brocade enhanced by long sleeves. She carried a crescent bouquet of white orchids and white stephanotis. A small pearl crown held her shoulder length veil.

Miss Judith Thompson of Amery was her maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Miss Sally Gress of Madison. They were seen in cranberry red velvet ankle length dresses styled with Empire waistlines and squared necklines, with long sleeves. Each carried one pale pin k rose.

Gloria Thoma, as miniature bride, was attired like the bride. Her headpiece was made of white stephanotis. Jeffery Thoma, as ringbearer, carried the rings on a white satin pillow.

Wayne Gross of Eau Claire was bestman. Groomsman was David Meier of Eau Claire. Ushers were Timothy Thoma and Richard Lawson.

The bride, a graduate of Neillsville High School, also is a graduate of the Eau Claire Beauty School and has been employed in a beauty shop in Neillsville. The groom, also a graduate of Neillsville High School, is a sophomore at Wisconsin State University-Stevens Point, where the young couple is making their home.
