Seidel, Walter L. (25 OCT 1938 - 28 JUN 2012)

Walter L. "Wally" Seidel, age 99, died on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Abbotsford. He was born on November 28, 1912 on the family farm near Dorchester, to Stephan and Mary (Rauchfuss) Seidel.

He married Catherine Cypher on October 25, 1938. They worked on the family farm until 1963 when they moved to Medford. In 2010 they moved to Colby Retirement Community.

Wally was formerly employed by the Midway Telephone Company as a repairman.

Wally is survived by his children: Ed (Clyda) Seidel of Goleta, CA; Dennis (Jeanette) Seidel of Colby; Ray Seidel of Schofield, and Judy (Art) Bartnik of Wausau; and his daughter-in-law, Linda Seidel of West Allis. He has 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Richard of West Allis; granddaughters Jennifer Bartnik, and Jennifer Seidel; his daughter-in-law, Ursula Seidel; brothers Frank, Charles, Oscar, Rudy, Albert and George; and sisters, Anne Seidel, Amanda Sauter and Elizabeth Bantz.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford on Thursday, July 5, 2012. Visitation is from 9:30 A.M. until time of services at the church.
