Stewart, Bonnie (4 NOV 1961)

Bonnie Stewart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stewart, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Arnold Dix Jr., Minneapolis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Dix Sr., Marshfield, exchanged vows at St. Bernard’s Church, Thorp on Saturday, Nov. 4th, 1961. The ten o’clock ceremony was performed by Rev. Herbert Hoffman. The children’s choir sang the nuptial high Mass.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of bouquet taffeta with scooped neckline, long tapered sleeves highlighted by clusters of seed pearls accented the fitted basque. The bouffant skirt was fashioned with a peplum and accented in back by cabbage roses. A crown of pearls held her silk illusion fingertip veil and a cascade of white orchids and sweetheart roses completed the bridal ensemble.

Mrs. James Schiferl, Abbotsford, was matron of honor in a street length gown of American beauty satin with matching slippers and headpieces. Judy Stewart, Eau Claire, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid in a gown identical to the maid of honor’s. Each carried a bouquet of white Fuji mums entwined with ivy.

James dix, brother of the groom, and Charles Fellenz were best man and groomsman respectively. Leon Scheller, Marshfield and Dick Hahn, Pittsville, ushered.

A reception and supper were held at the American Legion Hall in Thorp following the ceremony.

Relatives were present from Marshfield, Pittsville, Sun Prairie, Abbotsford, Dorchester, Hudson, Minneapolis, Eau Claire, Sparta, Withee, Stanley and Chicago.
