Schommer, Patricia (21 OCT 1961)

Miss Patricia Schommer of St. Paul, Minn. and Bernard Jacque, Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., were united in marriage Oct. 21, 1961, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church of Frederic. Father Paul Schmitt, an uncle of the bride, officiated. John, Walter, Tom and Jim Schommer, brothers of the bride, served Mass. Bouquets of white mums dressed the altar and red roses were place by the bride on the altar of the Blessed Virgin. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Schommer, Frederic, and Bernard is the son of Mrs. Justine Jacque of Thorp.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore her mother’s wedding gown, an ivory satin floor length gown with a long train and long fitted sleeves that came to a V below the wrists. The princess styled dress was adorned with a sweetheart neckline and lace forming a V in the back of the gown. She wore a crown of crystallette and pearls from which fell a fingertip length veil. Her only jewelry were crystal earrings and a matching necklace, a gift from the groom. She carried a cascade bouquet of feathered red carnations and white carnations centered with a white orchid with a red tip.

Miss Margaret Schommer of Frederic, a sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Miss Shirley George of St. Paul and Miss Carol Moline, Frederic, both friends of the bride, were the bridesmaids, with Betty Schommer, a sister of the bride, as junior bridesmaid. The flower girl was Mary Rose Schommer, a sister of the bride. The bridesmaids wore street length dresses fashioned of red satin with scooped necklines. They wore matching shoes and white gloves with crystal jewelry, their gift from the bride. They carried white colonial bouquets. Julie and Joe Schommer, sister and brother of the bride, carried the bride’s train.

The soloist was Miss Sharon Bengson of Frederic, a friend of the bride. She was accompanied by Pat Show, also of Frederic.

The groom was attended by his cousin, Albert Wink Jr. of Thorp. The groomsmen were Dale Frazer of Frederic, a friend of the groom, and Douglas Jacque of Thorp, a nephew of the groom. John Schommer was the usher.

The wedding dinner and reception for 300 was held at the home of the parents of the bride following the ceremony.

The bride, a graduate of Frederic High School, class of 1958, was formerly employed by Farmers Union Central Exchange in St. Paul, as a clerk typist. The groom is a graduate of Thorp High School. The newlyweds are residing at their home in Thorp where the groom farms.
