Grambsch, Ben (21 March 1884 - December 1966)

Funeral services will be conducted from the Methodist Church in Loyal at 2 o’clock this (Thursday) afternoon for Ben Grambsch, 82, widely known candymaker of Loyal and father of Clyde Grambsch, president of E-Z Kamper, Inc., which operates two plants in that city.

The Rev. Lelan Shaw will be in charge of the services. Burial will be made in the Loyal Cemetery. Arrangements are being made by the Myre Funeral Home in Loyal.

Active throughout his life, Mr. Grambsch suffered an apparent heart attack while driving his automobile in Marshfield about 10:20 a.m. Tuesday. He was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Mrs. Grambsch, who was in the car with him, was not injured.

For over half century Mr. Grambsch “made” the fairs of Central Wisconsin, as a concessionaire, and was widely-known as a result of this activity.

Mr. Grambsch was born March 21, 1884, in Waushara County. He was married to the former Lucille Fortnum June 18, 1910, in Ripon. The couple made their home in Marshfield, where Mr. Grambsch was a cabinet-maker and contractor, and where he later operated a confectionary and restaurant.

The Grambsch family moved to Loyal in 1924, where he also engaged in restaurant operation and candy making. He was a member of the Loyal Methodist Church and of the Odd Fellows.

Ion addition to Mrs. Grambsch, he is survived by a daughter, Miss Ruby Grambsch of Galesburg, Ill.; three sons, Clyde of Loyal, Russel of West Chester, O., and Lyle of San Jose, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Allen Bloy of Oshkosh, Mrs. Rose Ambuhl and Mrs. Anna Van Voorhis of Colton, Calif., and Mrs. Emma Van Voorhis of Tekoa, Wash. Ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
