Oldham, Mary Ann (Marriage - 1966)

The Rev. George Nelson performed the double ring nuptial ceremony Saturday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church uniting in marriage Miss Mary Ann Oldham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Oldham of Rt. 2 Neillsville and Robert F. Langreck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Langreck of Neillsville.

Altar bouquets were made up of gold and bronze chrysanthemums. A bouquet of white chrysanthemums was laid on the altar of the Blessed Virgin.

As the bride approached the altar with her father, she was attired in a floor length gown of Chantilly lace that featured long, tapered sleeves and a Sabrina neckline. The bouffant skirt was fashioned with a peplum front, highlighted at the back by alternating tiers of lace and sheer tulle. Pearl arches and crystal drops styled the crown that secured her veil of sheer illusion. She carried a bridal bouquet of white chrysanthemums centered with an orchid.

Miss Kathleen Opelt was her maid-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Carol Ebert of Black River Falls and Mrs. Donald Elmhurst of Neillsville. The attendants wore floor length sheaths of cranberry velvet, highlighted by back panels of satin. Elbow length sleeves and scoop necklines complemented the fitted bodices. A velvet rose, centered on an array of leaves, held their sheer veils. The attendants carried bouquets of white chrysanthemums made into snowballs, enhanced with green leaves.

Gerald Opelt of Neillsville was the best man. Groomsmen were Verlyn Shaw and Donald Elmhurst of Neillsville. Ushers were Gale Oldham and Eugene Langreck, both of Neillsville.

The bride, a 1963 graduate of Neillsville High School, has been employed in Elkhorn. Mr. Langreck attended the Neillsville schools and is employed at the Nelson Muffler Plant in Neillsville.

Wedding guests from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Zais of Eau Claire; Pat Boon of Elgin, Ill.; Lila Stabnow of Greenwood; Raymond Kalsow of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Heath, Mrs. Bertha Mueller, Mrs. Madelis Mueller and Leo Mueller, all of Milwaukee.
