United Church of Christ at Neillsville was the setting for the wedding Saturday, July 23 of Miss Karen Lou Newman and Alan Frank Harder of Christie. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and mrs. Harold Newman, Loyal and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry harder of Christie.

Rev. Stuckie officiated at the 11 a.m. ceremony at which soloist Toddie Wall sang “Oh Perfect Love” and “ The Lord’s Prayer.”

As the bride was given in marriage by her father, she wore a ballerina length white gown of nylon organza appliquéd with embroidered flowers around the neckline, front of dress and over the three quarter length sleeves. She had a finger tip veil of nylon tulle and carried a bouquet of baby orchids and white mums.

Miss Kaye Nrwman of West Allis was her sister’s maid of honor and the bridesmaid was Miss Beverly Shuetz of Milwaukee. Miss Newman’s gown was of shrimp colored nylon organza with orchid flowers and accessories. Miss Beverly Shuetz’s dress was identical to that of the maid of honor.

Rene Harder, brother of the groom was best man and ushers were Benjamin Harder, Beloit, also a brother of the groom and Frank Croman, Loyal, brother-in-law of the bride.

The bride’s mother attended the wedding in a white lace dress with blue accessories and the groom’s mother wore a blue lace dress with white accessories.

A reception was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Harder and a dinner was also held in the church dining hall. In the evening a dance was held at the Silver Dome.

The bride graduated from the Loyal High School and the groom was graduated from Neillsville High School. He is employed at the American Motors Corporation in Kenosha and the couple will make their home at 4201 5th Ave. there.
