Raymond Joseph Miller was born on Aug. 4, 1936, in Cross Plains, WI, the son of Francis and Dorothy (Zander) Brings. His father died when he was very young, and Ray's mother remarried Alvin Miller, who was "Dad" to all of the Bring's children. When Ray was 11 years old, his family moved to Loyal, where he attended St. Anthony Catholic School and graduated from Loyal High School in 1955. He worked for Schreiner's Plumbing & Heating in Marshfield, from January 1958 until 1972, at which time he started his own business, Miller's Plumbing, in Loyal. Ray retired in 2010 due to health concerns.

He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Fatima Council #4963, the Loyal Chamber of Commerce, where Miller Plumbing was recognized as the 2011 Business of the Year, the Loyal Historical Society, and the P.H.C.C.

Ray had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his family and friends at their cabin, hunting, playing cards, his work, the Brewers, Bucks and Badgers, and life.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Caroline, of Loyal; his children, Steven (Charlotte) Miller of Waunakee; Sandy Miller (Dana Pettis) of Chippewa Falls; Tammi (Ron) Motion of Loyal; Dennis (Jane) Miller of Granton; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five siblings, Jim Miller of Loyal; Linda (Bill) Ehlers of Greenwood; Don (Judy) Miller of Mayville; MaryAnn (Jim) Clemens of Waukesha; Sue (Greg) Thums of Rib Lake; his in-laws, Clara Ampe of Loyal; Rosie Aumann of Butler; Clarence (Doris) Aumann of Spencer; Irban (Leona) Aumann of Marshfield; Henry Jr. (Lois) Aumann of Loyal; Doreen (Pat) Mrotek of Cadott; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
