BRIGHTON CORNERS

Mrs. Anna Schwantes left for Genoa City two weeks ago where she met her son, Corp. Aleck Schwantes of Fort Bliss, Texas. Last Tuesday they arrived in Spencer with Mrs. Frank Eddy, a daughter of Mrs. Schwantes, who lives in Genoa. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schwantes and family of Genoa also accompanied them here. This was Aleck’s first visit with home folks since joining the Army 16 months ago. The following relatives gathered at the Fred Korth home Wednesday evening to see Aleck: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Oelrich and daughter, Bonnie and granddaughter, Marilyn Boock; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Miller and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cramer and son Lester and daughter, Margaret; Mr. and Mrs. LaVern Woodkey and family and Eleanor Oelrich of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Bruesewitz and son, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cramer and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Cramer and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Korth and family. Thursday morning Aleck accompanied Mrs. Eddy and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schwantes and family to Genoa from where he left for his post at Fort Bliss, Texas, on Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Korth and family gathered with relatives in Wausau Sunday.

Frank Schwantes spent the week-end with Elroy Cramer.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Cramer and Mrs. Herman Kause accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Weisman to Beaver Dam last week Thursday where they spent the week-end visiting relatives.

George Schwantes Sr. and son, Carl of Merrimac, spent a few days at their home last week.

George Schwantes Jr. and family have moved to Stratford where he is employed.
