Voelker, Mr. and Mrs. William (Gold - 1942)


Mr. and Mrs. William Voelker celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, July 12, at the home of their son, Edwin. They were married at St .John’s Evangelical church in Grover, Marinette county, 50 years ago. Their four children, Mrs. William (Agnes) Schorer of Colby, Alvin Voelker of Chili, Edwin Voelker of Spencer and Walter Voelker of Marshfield were present at the celebration. Other guests included Mrs. Ferd. Mueller of Kiel; Mr. and Mrs. Royal Strutz and son, Donald of Marinette; Otto Rohl of Peshtigo; John Behnke of Marinette; Mrs. Alex Byer of Coleman; Mrs. Anna Schultz of Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Seefeldt and daughter, Pearl, and Mrs. Walter Braatz of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Rasmussen, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Loos and daughters, Lorraine, Emily, and son, Darrel; Mrs. Anna Loos, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schorer and children, Joyce, Grace and Billy of Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Williams and daughters, Diane of Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gottschalk and children, Betty, Allen and Lee of Edgar; Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Husty and son, James, and Mrs. Wallace Gardenier and sons, Gene and David, of Whittlesay; Mrs. Fred Klienschmidt and Berdette McNaul of Chili; Rev. and Mrs. A. C. Stapels, Mr. and Mrs. Verland Schorer, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Vanderhoof, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bymers and Roger, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Genett and children, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Jost and children, John Hoops, all of Spencer; Miss Myrtle Schorer of Winnethke; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Fisher, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stauss of Marshfield.

The pin Mrs. Voelker wore was worn by her mother on her wedding day some seventy years ago. Mrs. Fred Mueller is a mother of Mr. Voelker and came from Kiel to attend her son’s golden wedding anniversary. She is 91 years old. A dinner and supper was served to 85 guests. The room was decorated with green and gold streamers and garden flowers. A large wedding cake for the centerpiece for the table. For the occasion Mrs. Voelker wore a blue dress. All those present wished for Mr. and Mrs. Voelker many more mileposts in their married life.
