Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Poole arrived home from Rochester, Minn., Sunday morning.  Mrs. Poole is ill and will return there next week when at the Mayo Bros Hospital she will undergo an operation for relief from her trouble.

 

Assemblyman W.L. Smith and family came up from Madison Saturday for a week’s stay and visit at the H.M. Root home.

 

Ray Clemens has been ill and confined at home much of the past two weeks, threatened with pneumonia.

 

Mrs. Elmer Rossman entertained 14 lady friends at a a party in her beautiful new home last Saturday, when at cards Mrs. H.L. Howard won the prize and in the deciphering of words contest, Mrs. F.J. Baer won out.  The winners were awarded pretty ferns.

 

Will Jacques of this city and Miss Elizabeth McCormick of Greenwood were married at Greenwood Tuesday, April 3rd.

 

Will Montgomery of this city and Miss Julia Florence of Marshfield were married at Grand Rapids.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Free visited their son Wilson and his family at Sheboygan last week.

 

The annual O.E.S. Ball, a pleasurable event, is set for Tuesday evening, April 10th.  Ticets are $1.00 and everybody is invited.

 

D.F. Wallace of Alma Center has accepted the position of butter maker here in the city creamery.

 

Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Dwyer have moved to Alma Center and taken up residence on their lately purchased farm.
