Schnabel, Lena E. (9 June 1890 - 24 May 1966)

 

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville for Mrs. Lena E. Schnabel, 75, of Rt. 1 Neillsville, who died here Tuesday. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff will officiate and burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. 

 

Mrs. Schnabel, the former Lena Lipke, was born June 9, 1890, in the Town of Levis.  She had been a lifelong resident of the Neillsville area.  On December 12, 1906, she was married to Alfred Schnabel, who died in 1942.

 

She is survived by 10 children: Mrs. Lillian Wagner of Alma Center; Mrs. Elliott (Velda) King of Beaver Dam; Mrs. Albin (Ilene) Scharf of Neillsville; Clarence Schnabel of Chili; Herbert Schnabel of Granton; Harold Schnabel of Warner, S. D.; Verlyn, Delbert and Russell Schnabel all of Neillsville.  Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Robert (Emma) Bruss of Neillsville; 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

 

Mrs. Schnabel was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville.

Funeral services were held last Friday afternoon from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for Mrs. Lena Schnabel, who died May 24.

 

"Rock of Ages" and "For Me to Live in Jesus," were sung; by children of St. John’s Lutheran School accompanied by Victor Lehmann.

 

Pallbearers were: Donald, Harland and Dale Schnabel, James King, Kenneth Kirn and Terry Volz.

D.; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schnabel and Dale of Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Verlyn Schnabel and Mrs. Pat Myrant of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Schnabel, Harland Schnabel, Mr. and Mrs. Celon Winter, Raymond Gluch and Mrs. John Gluch, all of Granton; Mrs. Lillian Wagner and Mrs. Vi Edwards of Alma Center; Mr. and Mrs. Elliott King and James King of Beaver Dam; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wagner and Mr. and Mrs. Verlyn Wagner of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Volz and Terry of Wisconsin Rapids; Rev. and Mrs. Darryl Bruemmer and family of Oronoco, Minn.; Mrs. Tina Cole of Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bush of Withee.
