Pretsch, Fred Frank (9 May 1894 - 9 April 1966)

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Fred F. Pretsch, 71, of Rt. 1 Neillsville, who died here Saturday. The Rev. E. G. Burtness officiated.  Burial was made in the South Pine Valley Cemetery.

 

Fred Frank Pretsch was born May 9, 1894, to Reinhold and Lottie (Sawall) Pretsch, in Sauk County, where he attended school.  He came to Clark County in 1917.  He spent his entire life farming, retiring in 1956.  He had been in failing health for several years.

 

His first wife, the former Veda Selves, died in 1938.  He was married in July, 1946, to Wanda Short in Neillsville.

 

Mr. Pretsch is survived by his wife and seven children: Richard Pretsch of Chicago, Ill., Walter of West Bend, Mrs. Harry (Esther) King of Neillsville, Mrs. Ardell (Marie) Cardarella of West Bend, Earl Pretsch of Neillsville, Jerry Pretsch of Neillsville, and Mrs. Donald (Arlene) Jelinek of Neillsville. A sister, Mrs. Byno (Marie) Lloyd of rural Neillsville, and 12 grandchildren also survive.

 

Pallbearers were: Robert Mortenson, Walter Trachte, William Matuszak, Irving Stevens, Harry Carstensen and Alvin Krause.

 

"Abide with me" and "I Know I am asleep in Jesus Name," were sung by Mrs. Roger Heineck, accompanied by Mrs. E. G. Burtness.

 

People from out of town here for the funeral were: Richard Pretsch of Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pretsch and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Ardell Cardarella and family of West Bend.
