Mortenson, Christine (Marriage - 26 March 1966)

Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturday uniting in marriage Miss Christine Mortenson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mortenson of Rt. 1 Neillsville, and Ronnie Wren, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Wren of Neillsville. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. C. Koehler.  Baskets of Easter Lilies graced the altar of the United Church of Christ.

Mrs. Robert Peters sang, "O Perfect Love" and "Today O Lord," accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.

The bride entered the church with her father, who gave her in marriage.  She was attired in a floor-length bridal gown styled with a Basque bodice of Chantilly lace and a scalloped Sabrina neckline.  A full skirt of bridal taffeta was caught up at the center front to reveal a flounce edged with lace at the hemline.  A Watteau train of taffeta and lace, with bow trim, was attached at the shoulders.  Her bouffant illusion veil was secured to a butterfly headpiece that was accented with pearls and aurora borealis crystals. She carried a cascade bouquet of Easter Lilies and long trailing ivy.

Miss Sandra Hanson of Milwaukee was her maid of honor.  Bridesmaids were Miss Judy Miller and Mrs. Donald Jelinek, both of rural Neillsville. The attendants wore blue floor-length formals with bateau necklines topping lace bodices.  Satin midriffs topped the full skirts, which were enhanced in the back by a bow and sash. They wore matching headpieces of twisted braid, encircled with a floral cluster and pouf veils.

Best man was Jon Karnitz of Neillsville; groomsmen were Jerry Pretsch and Donald Jelinek of Neillsville.  Ushers were Larry Wren and Robert Mortenson, Jr.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Wren attended Neillsville High School.  The groom has employment in West Bend, where the newlyweds are residing.

Out of town guests from Chicago were: Sandra Fassa, Mrs. Belle Mazola, Edward and Beverly, Nick Panagiotaros, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Rizner, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Rizner, Miss Albie Rizner, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Thomson, Ellen and Jim, Mrs. Edward Schwamb and Mrs. Antonette Kozsek; from West Bend: Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bellin, Mr. and Mrs. Auggie Jordan, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Cardarelle and Dennis, Janet Volm, Judy Wren, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schmidt and Lori and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Keller; from Milwaukee: Dewayne Seelow, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Tellier, Carla White, Cynthia White, Mr. and Mrs. Roger White, Sylvia White, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McBride, Mr. and Mrs. George Rizner and family, Sandra Hanson, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Seelow, Carol King, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rizner and family and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Short and family.
