Neillsville Locals (24 February 1966)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Gustman visited Saturday with her brother, George Bleskachek, who is a hospital patient in Eau Claire receiving care for injuries suffered several days ago in a car accident near Menomonie.  He was taken to a hospital in Menomonie and later transferred to Eau Claire.  George, a former Neillsville bowling alley operator, was enroute to Menomonie, where he was in charge of the bowling lanes at Stout State University. He suffered head injuries and many bruises in the accident.

 

A bowling ream sponsored by the Royal Crown bowled in a valley tournament in Rhinelander over the weekend. Members of the team are Atty. Wayne W. Trimberger of Neillsville, Harry Zeleski, Dale Short, Dick Grassman and Bob Friedrichsen, all of the Granton area.

 

Mrs. William Ruchaber attended a D. A. R. meeting and tea at the Augusta Roddis home in Marshfield Monday afternoon.

 

The Shleta group of Campfire Girls met Tuesday after school in the Calvary Lutheran Church.  After the business meeting was conducted members sang songs and repeated the Trail Seekers Desire. Susan Chaltry was in charge of the games; Barbara Kalsow is scribe.

 

Mrs. Pete Honzik of rural Neillsville quietly observed her 81st birthday Tuesday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Kronberger of Neillsville welcomed a son weighing, six pounds, 12 ounces, February 15 in Memorial Hospital.  He has been named Keith Paul.

 

Bruce Carl of Kenosha arrived Saturday to spend two weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carl of Washburn.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Shaw and family of Milwaukee were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar DeMert.  On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Robert DeMert and family of Whitehall were visitors at the parental home.  Mrs. Tom Strick and two children called at the DeMert home Sunday afternoon.
