Anderson, Gustave (07 JULY 1886-05 OCT 1958)

 

Gustave Siegfred Anderson, 72, Loyal, died of complications Sunday afternoon at his home. He had been in poor health since 1947. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Greenwood. Rev. I.J. Tanner officiated and burial was in the Greenwood cemetery.

 

Mr. Anderson was born on July 7, 1886 at Gillstad, Sweden. He came from Sweden in 1907 to Argyle, Wis. and worked as a farm hand until his marriage to Estella Louisa Flint on June 9. 1920 in Argyle. They lived on a farm in that township until 1936 when they moved to a farm south of Loyal. The then moved on a farm near Athens in 1939, where he resided until moving back to Loyal.

 

He received his education in Sweden and also served in Sweden’s Navy three years. He served two months in the U.S. Army in World War l. He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Greenwood.

 

His wife survives him. Other survivors are two sons Glenn Anderson, Stratford; and Orville Anderson, Marshfield; 4 grandchildren and one brother in Gillstad, Sweden. Two brothers preceded him in death.
