St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at Thorp was the setting for the wedding of Miss Stephanie Soborowicz and Bernard Dobrzynski on Saturday, Oct. 8, 1960 at 10 o’clock, the Rev. Francis Disher performing the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with white, yellow and purple mums.

Parents of the bride and groom are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Soborowicz and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Dobrzynski, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of French imported Chantilly lace and peau-satin.  Elegante was the styling of the Sabrina neckline and long traditional tapered sleeves with a fitted Basque.  Each floral design in the Chantilly lace was daintily etched in sequins and tiny seed pearls.  The gracefully flared skirt was styled with a front panel of lace, accented at the sides with tiers of tulle, edged with hand clipped lace, sparkling with sequins.  The back panel with three silk roses at the bustle, flowed graciously into a chapel length train.

Her headpiece, fashioned as a wedding cake crown of seed pearls and brilliants in in a leaf design, held the fingertip veil of imported French silk illusion.  She carried a cascade bouquet of red sweetheart roses, centered with an orchid and streamers tied with lovers knots and roses.

Miss Margaret Ruff, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.  Bridesmaids were Miss Dorothy Bulinski, cousin of the bride, Miss Bernadette Ciolkosz, and Miss Theresa Pogodzinski, friend of the bride.  They wore ballerina length gowns of silk embroidered organza in elegant fall shades of raspberry, gold, violine and olive, smartly styled with scoop necklines, short sleeves, shirred bodice and bouffant skirts.  Matching princess crowns with blusher veils, and shoe to match completed their lovely ensemble.  Each carried a cascade bouquet of whit Fugi mums.

Gail Lewandowski, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.  She wore a floor length gown of white embroidered silk organza, with a crown and blusher to match.  A small cascade bouquet of colored mums were her flowers.

Attending the groom was Richard Dobrzynski, as his brother’s best man.  Groomsmen were Raymond Soborowicz, a cousin of the bride, Gerald Szymanski and Harold Koslo, cousins of the groom.  Frank Soborowicz Jr. and Edward Dobrzynski ushered.

Mrs. Henry Budzinski was the guest hostess.  Mrs. William Thorp and Miss Pamela Jankoski were in charge of the gifts.

A reception was held at the P.N.A. Hall to about 500 guests.

After a wedding trip to Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee, where the couple visited the bride’s brother, Arthur, stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

They will make their home in Thorp, where the groom is employed at the Ace Oil Co., and the bride at the Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley.
