Peterson, Mary (26 SEP 1884 - 25 SEP 1960)

 

Mrs. Mary Peterson, a resident of the Cheever Nursing Home in Eagle Point, died Sunday morning, Sept. 25th, 1960 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls.

 

Mrs. Peterson was born in New York Sept. 26, 1884, the daughter of the late John and Mary Miller.  She moved to the Eidsvold area, Clark County, Wis. when a young girl and in 1905 was married to Elmer Peterson of Thorp.  They farmed in South Worden until 1920, then moved to Stanley.  She resided in Jim Falls from 1942 to 1953, then moved to Stanley.  She entered the Cheever Nursing Home on Sept. 1, 1960.

 

Mrs. Peterson was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church; the North Mission Circle and the Ladies Aid.

 

Surviving are four sons, Donald, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Leland of Chippewa Falls; Irvin of Stanley; Raymond of Jim Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Verna) Goltz, Jim Falls; Mrs. Kenneth (Viola) Urquhart, Stanley; Mrs. Earl (Ilene) Christianson, Jim Falls, one brother, Carl Miller of Withee; one sister, Mrs. William Auman, Stanley; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband in 1937, and one son, Walter in 1932.

 

The funeral was held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanley, with Rev. Frank N. Salveson officiating.  Interment was in the East Side Cemetery.
