Wehlacz, Mr./Mrs. Charles (Gold - 28 SEP 1960)

 

On Saturday, Sept. 3, 1960, a Mass of Thanksgiving in honor of the Golden Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Wehlacz was celebrated by Rev. Edw. Masielewicz at 9:00 a.m. at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church.

 

The Jublilarians were honored by a reception at the American Legion Hall given by their children.  The 12:00 o’clock dinner was served to relatives and out of town guests.  A memory book wedding cake centered the main table set off by golden candles and seasonal flowers on either side. 

 

Afternoon music, enjoyed by all was furnished by the Polka Masters.

 

For the occasion, Mrs. Wehlacz wore an olive green rayon crepe dress with satin trim and matching accessories and a yellow sweetheart rose corsage.  Mr. Wehlacz wore a navy suit with yellow rose boutonniere and sported his original wedding derby.

 

At 5 o’clock supper was served to 300 guests.  Mrs. Frances Neiman, hostess for the occasion, gave the history of their life and presented them with a golden anniversary book with her best wishes.  Each of the children also extended their best wishes and sincere congratulations.  All eight children were present for this happy occasion.  They are: Mr. and Mrs. Ted Wehlacz, and family of Mt. Prospect, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Ed Glanz (Elizabeth) and family of Addison, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Les Rosecrane (Virginia) of Clarendon Hills, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Aahde (Emily) and son of Downers Grove, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. V. Zwierzynski (Clara) and sons of Los Angeles, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wehlacz and daughter of Covina, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Wehlacz and sons of Thorp.

 

Also present were all fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

 

Evening entertainment was furnished by the Country Cousins from Weyerhauser.

 

Chas. Wehlacz and Josephine Stroinski were united in marriage Sept. 28, 1910 at St. Hedwig’s Church, Thorp, Wis., by Rev. Francis X. Pudlo.  They farmed in the town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) until 1942, and then retired to the city of Thorp.

 

Out of town relatives and friends attending were from Chicago, Ill., Laurens, Iowa; Marquette, Mich.; Austin, Minn.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Perham, Minn.; St. Paul, Minn.; Pierce, Neb.; Milwaukee, Wis.; Owen, Withee, Stanley, Gilman and Thorp.
