Mech, Helen Virginia (Marriage - 23 January 1966)

Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville was the setting for the wedding Saturday afternoon of Miss Helen Virginia Mech, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mech of Neillsville, and Thomas Edward Seipel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Seipel of Eau Claire. A double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. G. Burtness.

Arrangements of white chrysanthemums and white pompon chrysanthemums graced the church altar as Miss Mech approached the altar with her father. The pews were marked with white pompons and white satin bows.

The bride chose for her wedding a floor-length gown of orange blossom brocade, styled with three-quarter-length sleeves, with white mink cuffs. A cathedral length train fell from the back of the soft, rolled collar. A bouffant veil of silk illusion was attached to a pearlized orange blossom crown. She carried a cascade bouquet of phalaenopsis orchids and tea leaves.

The maid of honor was Miss Carol Seipel of Eau Claire, sister of the groom. She wore an empire waist dress with a spruce green velvet bodice and Nile green crepe skirt, which featured a Watteau train.  Her veil was attached to a rose and petal head piece. She carried a pompon bouquet of green-tipped carnations and green net, suspended from a green velvet ribbon.

Dennis Mech, brother of the bride, was bestman. Ushers were William Seipel of Eau Claire and Emery Peterson of Cadott.

A reception and dinner was held in the church parlors following the ceremony.

Wilfred B. Galstad sang, "Wedding Prayer" and "O Perfect Love."

The bride attended the university extension center at Wausau and has been employed in a photo studio in Wausau.  Mr. Seipel was graduated from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Ind., with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He is employed by the Link Belt Company in Chicago, Ill.

Mr. and Mrs. Seipel are residing at 3521 Euclid Ave., Berwyn, Ill.
