Mellenthin, Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Silver - 18 OCT 1941)

 

 

CELEBRATES WEDDINGANNIVERSARY LAST WEEK

 

Celebrating their silver wedding anniversary Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mellenthin who entertained at a family reunion on the farm northwest of the village, which has been their home since they were married.  Mr. Mellenthin is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mellenthin, Sr. and was born in Clark county near there on March 9, 1892.  His bride was Elsie Schroeder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schroeder of Loyal formerly of Spencer, who came here in 1901.  She was born in Dodge county near Beaver Dam Aug. 23, 1896.  The wedding ceremony, which took place Oct. 18, 1916 in the Veefkind Lutheran church, was performed by Rev. B. F. Matter, until recently pastor of St. Matthew’s Lutheran church in Marshfield, and now at Verona.

 

The family now includes two daughters, Mrs. Herman Luepke of Unity and Shirley at home; four sons, Ray of Rockford, Ill.; Oscar of Beaver Dam, Gordon and Wilbur at home and one granddaughter, Salvia Jean Luepke.

 

Guests at the family dinner also included Miss Delores Krueger of Beaver Dam, Miss Marion Frome of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schroeder of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Mellenthin and family, Mr. and Mrs. Art Mellenthin and family, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Krause and family.  Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ewaldt, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Krahn, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schroeder, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Schoeder, Mrs. Esther Gerhke, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Klein, Mrs. Martha Schwantes, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Manthe, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Harger, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Justman, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Klein, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bruesewitz, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Schroeder, and Walter Voight, of Beaver Dam.
