Volovsek, Mary Margaret (1914 - 1995)


Mary Margaret Crotzer-Volovsek, 80, Owen, Clark County, died Friday, Jan. 27, 1995, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen.


Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 1995, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. Father Steve Baures and Father Michael Mertens officiated. Burial was in Holy Family Cemetery.


Pallbearers were Kris Hribar, Jessica Denk, Cindy Wildish, Amy Yurkovich, Sarah Volovsek and Annie Mewhorter.


Honorary pallbearers were Donna Wolf, Eula Luzovic, Molly Prebil, Alice Wegner, Helen Calkins, Marcie Nelson and Della Podobnik.


Mary Margaret Hribar was born on Sept. 8, 1914, in Willard, to Frank and Mana (nee Zitnik) Hribar. After she finished school, she went to Chicago for employment. She worked at Steward-Warner during WWII and supervised 65 women. She married Mickey (Gerald) Crotzer on Aug. 1, 1936, in Chicago. They later moved to Willard and farmed for 12 years. In 1952, they purchased the Lakeside Resort. Mickey died on Aug. 4, 1966. She continued to operate the resort for a short time. She married Stanley Volovsek on Sept. 16, 1977, and they built a home near Tioga. They were married into the Holy Roman Catholic Church on Oct. 10, 1986. She enjoyed visiting with friends and playing cards. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and its PCCW.


Survivors include her husband, Stanley Volovsek two step-sons, LaVern (Sharon) Volovsek, Rice Lake and Jack (Sue) Volovsek, Wausau one step-daughter, Peggy (Ed) Yurkovich, Willard seven step-grandchildren two sisters, Olga (Frank) Hedemark, Neillsville and Bernice (Elmer) Bruksch, Kildeer, Ill. and five brothers, Joe and William Hribar, Willard Anton Hribar, Lake Villa, Ill. Ludwig Hribar, Tioga and Walter Hribar, Greenwood.


She was preceded in death by her first husband, Mickey her parents three brothers, Frank, John and Louie and one sister, Anna Marincic.


Rinka Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
