Jackey, Fred D. (1868? - 14 Jun 1928)

Dr. Fred David Jackey, aged sixty years, died at the home of his son-in-law, Thomas Bogumill, in Chicago on Thursday last, after an illness extending over nearly a year. Deceased had been a resident here for about eighteen years when illness forced him to relinquish his practice, and in September last moved to Chicago. Could all live the just and upright life Dr. Jackey lived, and die in his trusting faith, death could no longer be called "The King of Terrors," for he inspired no terror there. The dying man and sorrowing family looked forward with the same eye of faith to the brighter future where this temporary separation would end in an eternal reunion. Besides a devoted wife he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Cyrus Thieme of South Milwaukee and Mrs. Thomas Bogumill of Chicago.

Dr. Jackey served as Captain in a government hospital at Indianapolis, Ind., during the world war, and a delegation of Legion members of South Milwaukee accompanied the body to the grave at the funeral, which took place from the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. Thieme, at South Milwaukee on Saturday afternoon last. Interment took place in the family lot in Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee.
