Andersen, Soren (1845 - 1926)

Soren Andersen, a resident of the township of Hixon for more than twenty-five years, died Sunday night at about 9 o'clock, at the home of his son, Charles Andersen, residing west of the village of Withee, Clark County.

Mr. Andersen was one of the first settlers to locate near Withee at the forming of the Danish colony and since that time has resided on his farm, northeast of the village, until failing health caused him to go the the home of his son. For the past three years he has not been in rugged health, and early last fall gave up his residence on his farm, for the home which was offered by his son.

He was eighty-one years of age and leaves to mourn three sons, Charles of Withee, Ole C. Andersen of Neillsville, and Soren Andersen of Butternut.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the Danish Lutheran Church at Withee, Rev. Petersen officiating, and burial took place in the church cemetery.
