Lobacz, Marion Louise (1922 - 2001)


Marion Louise Lobacz, 79, Withee, died on Thursday, March 15, 2001, at the Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, March 19, 2001, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Thorp. The Rev. John Puerner officiated. Burial was in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Thorp. Pallbearers were her grandsons.


Marion Louise Turenne was born on March 1, 1922, in Thorp, to Albert and Mildred (nee Lockbaum) Turenne. She attended area school. She moved to Chicago, Ill., to work and then met John Lobacz. They were married on Sept. 4, 1943, in Chicago, Ill. They moved to the Withee area in 1946 and farmed until retirement.


Survivors include five sons, Kenneth (Linda) Lobacz, Withee, Karl (Pam) Lobacz, Wind Lake, Richard (Esther) Lobacz, Greenwood, Edward (Mary) Lobacz, Unity , and Raymond (Lynda) Lobacz, Palmyra 23 grandchildren one great-grandchild five brothers, Fred (Brenda) Turenne, Thorp, Clarence (Anita) Turenne, Lexington, Ga., John (Janet) Turenne, Idaho, Charles Turenne, Portland, Ore., and Phillip (Vi) Turenne, Petersburg, Ill. and three sisters, Betty (Buck) Sporrer, Bend, Ore., Grace (George) Lobacz, Thorp, and Julia Turenne, California.


She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, John Lobacz, on June 19, 1986 one son, Ernest, on July 14, 1991 two brothers, Paul and Willard and one sister, Elenore.


Thorp Funeral Home, Thorp, assisted the family with arrangements.
