Oldham, Adam J. (1984 - 2001)


Adam J. Oldham, 16, Greenwood, died on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, after a courageous battle with cystic fibrosis and Duechenne s muscular dystrophy. Funeral services were held at 6 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 5, at the Missionary Baptist Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Michael Kennedy officiated. Honorary pallbearers were his cousins and classmates, Eric Oldham, Lisa Kortuem, Mike Kortuem, Justin Searles, Tommy Lobacz, Tonya Bravener, Kelly Degenhardt, Jessy Degenhardt, and Joseph Degenhardt.


Adam John Oldham was born on Nov. 7, 1984, at Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville, to Kevin and Denet (nee Degenhardt) Oldham. He was currently a freshman at Greenwood High school. He was an avid hunter, accomplishing each goal he set, bringing home deer, turkey, a ram, a Russian boar, and a black bear. He loved to travel with his family, visiting Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, and Florida, and especially loved the trip to the Mall of America. He enjoyed Mickey Mouse, flying and remote control airplanes, and loved animals.


Survivors include his parents, Kevin and Denet Oldham, Greenwood one brother, Eric, Greenwood two sisters, Amy and Michele, both of Greenwood paternal grandparents, Wayne Bill and Lucille Oldham, Neillsville great-grandmothers, Margaret Oldham and Elma Gurney, both of Neillsville and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.


Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
