Zimmer, Ruth (1904 - 1991)

Ruth Zimmer, 86, Greenwood, died Saturday, May 11, 1991, at St. Joseph's Hospice Unite, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 1991, at Rinka Funeral Home. Rev. Ronald Stelzleni officiated and burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, Mark Zimmer, Joel Zimmer, Randall Zimmer, Scott Zimmer, Rick Zimmer, James Albert, Joel Suda and Charles Brown. Providing music were Mrs. Fern Kuester, organist and Mrs. Dorothy Flemming, soloist.

Ruth Steele was born Oct. 14, 1904, in Thorp, to Arthur and Anna (nee Berrett) Steele. She received her education at Thorp Schools. She married John Zimmer Nov. 11, 1925, in Thorp. They farmed in the town of Reseburg until 1937, and then moved to the town of Warner and farmed until 1965. They then moved to the city of Greenwood. She was preceded in death by her husband in Feb. 1981. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, John, Greenwood 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son, Glen one daughter, Ruth one grandson, Michael five brothers and two sisters.

Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
