Schmidtke, Flossie (1904 - 1990)


Flossie, Schmidtke, 86, Neillsville, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 1990, at Neillsville Memorial Home, Neillsville. Funeral services were held Friday, March 2, 1990, at York Center Methodist Church, Granton. Rev. C. Arlene Denzef officiated. Burial was in York Center Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Kevin Schmidtke, Dennis Brown, Bruce Degenhardt, Allan Spangler, Arthur Degenhardt, James Degenhardt.


Flossie (Davis) Schmidtke was born Feb. 11, 1904, to Gordon and Viola (Brown) Davis in the town of Fremont. She was educated in the town of Fremont and after her schooling moved to Illinois and worked for a short time. She then returned to the Chili area. She married Otto Schmidtke on June 22, 1930. He died July 30, 1969. She entered Neillsville Memorial Home in 1988.


Survivors include one son, Otto Schmidtke, Stratford four daughters, Lola Brown, Lake Forest, Ill. Mrs. Harvey (Bonnie) Degenhardt, Loyal Mrs. Ralph (LuAnne) Baker, Webster City, Iowa Norita Adler, Waukegan, Ill. two sisters, Ione Miller, Lakeland, Fla. Doris Schwanebeck, Pittsville 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.


Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two sisters and one brother.


Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, handled the arrangements.
