FRED (SHORTY) PLOMAN
 

Fred (Shorty) Ploman, 75, Loyal, Clark County, died at 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 1978 at his home. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Rinka Funeral Home, with Charles Peters of the Free Methodist Church officiating and burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.


Mr. Ploman was born on Jan. 24, 1903 in Gray, Iowa to Edward and Elizabeth Zaeger. He attended school in rural Iowa. He lived on a farm in the Riplinger area, then worked for Clark County as a truck driver for 35 years. He also farmed in the Town of Eaton for five years and then moved to the City of Loyal, where he lived in retirement. He had never married.


He is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Anna Schofield, Cadott; Mrs. Adolph (Helena) Ross, Edgar; Mrs. Paul (Rose) Dietsche, Loyal; Mrs. Selma Rueth, Loyal; and Mrs. Calvin (Bertha) Foster, Concord, Calif.; and two brothers, Ed, Granton; and Walter, Marble Falls, Texas.
He was predeceased by his parents and one brother and one sister.
