Oestreich, Alvina (1887 - 1990)


Alvina Oestreich, 102, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 29, 1990, at the Marshfield Living Center, Marshfield. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 1, 1990, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. Rev. Joseph Kraly officiated. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.
Alvina Lucht was born Oct. 5, 1887, in Braddock, Pa., to Charles Sr. and Emily Lucht. She received her education in Spokeville School. She moved to Loyal with her parents and lived in the Loyal area her entire life. She married Alfred Oestreich Sept. 28, 1911, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal, where she remained a lifelong member. He preceded her in death March 6, 1962.


She and her husband farmed in the town of Sherman until 1954. They then moved to Spencer. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 1961. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting and crocheting.


Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Elmer and Lenora, Loyal and Ray and Marie, Loyal one daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and Herman Stange, Appleton one sister, Mrs. Martha Zuehlke, Oshkosh one brother, Arthur Lucht, Spencer six grandchildren, Dick Oestreich, Spencer Rhonda Bauer, Loyal Monica Schulman, New York Bob Stange, Janesville Marcia Clark, Tucson, Ariz. and Marla Lottes, Madison. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews.


Rux Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
