Goehring, Manda (1898 - 1920)


Manda Goehring, 92, Loyal, died Saturday, May 5, 1990, at Wisconsin Veteran's Home, King, Wis. The Loyal American Legion Auxiliary Unite 175 held a memorial service Tuesday evening May 8, 1990, at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 9, 2990, at United Methodist Church, Loyal. Rev. C. Arlene Denzer and Rev. Lynn Reynolds, a granddaughter of Mrs. Goehring's, officiated. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers.


Manda (Ystad) Goehring was born Jan. 29, 1898, in Clark County to Hans and Jorgine (Hembre) Ystad.


She received her education in the Christopherson School and attended Greenwood High School for three years. She attended Normal School for one year and became a certified teacher. She taught six years in the Loyal and Greenwood area. She married Otto Goehring on Dec. 31, 1919, in Greenwood. They farmed in the Town of Beaver until 1969.  Her husband died July 22, 1969. In 1970 she moved to the city of Loyal. She was a member of Trondjhem Lutheran Church, Greenwood, as a young girl, United Methodist Church and its Women s Society, Beaver Center Home makers and Loyal Legion Auxiliary Unit 175.


Survivors include three sons, Conrad, King, Wis. Gordon, North Bend, Oregon Jerold, West Bend three daughters, Mrs. Kathleen (Loraine) Cook, Spencer Mrs. Joan (Eugene) Reynolds, Green Bay Mrs. Ruthann (James) Snedic, West Allis two brothers, Ralph Ystad, Greenwood Lee Ystad, Milwaukee two sisters, Mrs. Alcy Jentz, San Diego, Calif. Mrs. Jeanette (Frank) Basele, West Allis nineteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.


Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, five sisters, two brothers and two great-grandchildren.
Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
