Klemke, Albert (1900 - 1990)

Albert Klemke, 89, Colby, died at 1:40 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 1990, at Colonial Living Center, Colby. Funeral services were held Monday, April 9, 1990, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, S. Green Grove. Rev. DuWayne Schneider officiated. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harlan Witt, Dennis Witt, Henry Molle, Bill Schuette, Michael Klemke and Jeff Fischer.

Albert Klemke was born Oct. 14, 1900, in Grand Haven, Mich., to Albert and Clara (Schroeder) Klemke. He received his education through the eighth grade in Michigan schools. He married Freida Dubois on Oct. 17, 1931, in Grand Haven. He worked various manufacturing jobs in Michigan until they moved to Wisconsin in 1948. He farmed in the Town of Green Grove, retiring in 1965. His wife died May 9, 1983. He resided on the farm until 1985, when he moved to Abbotsford. He had been a resident of the Colonial House for the past two years. He was a member of St. Luke church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Danneffel, Coopersville, Mich. two sons, Loren, Duluth, Minn. Larry, Colby two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Rosin, Nunica, Mich. Mrs. Agnes Zimmnick, Grand Haven, Mich. three half-brothers, Adolph, Carl and William Schmidt, all of Grand Haven, Mich.

Preceding him in death were one daughters, Leona, one brother and one sister.


Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, handled the arrangements.

The survivor list incorrectly lists one of the survivors (Mrs. Frieda Rosen of Nunica, MI) - The name is spelled incorrectly - her name should be Elfreda Rosin - not ROSEN. Her maiden name was Schmidt also.
