EVA HOLLOWELL


Eva Hollowell, 85, formerly of Greenwood, Clark County, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1992, at Neillsville Medical Center, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 1992, at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood. Rev. Stephen Baures officiated and burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg, Scott, Steve and Jim Herrick, Vern Kind and Joe Petkovsek.


Eva Herrick was born Feb. 28, 1907, in West Mineral, Kansas, to Jacob and Anna (nee Pintar) Herrick. She received her education at North Mound School.  She moved to the Willard area in 1941, and later worked in Waukegan, Ill., moving to California in 1936, where she attended cosmetology school and operated her own beauty shop in Hollywood, Calif. For many years. She married David Hollowell Feb. 22, 1946, in Las Vegas, Nev. He preceded her in death Oct. 3, 1991. They moved to Greenwood in 1977, where they lived in retirements.


Survivors include five brothers, Jack Herrick, Afton, Minn.; Florian Herrick, Colby; Charles Herrick, Greenwood; Edward Herrick, Bossier City, La.; and Robert Herrick, Willard; six sisters, Mrs. Ann Petkovsek, Peoria, Ill.; Mary Stewart, Santa Monica, Calif.; Frances (Dean) Murphy, Marshall, Ill.; Lucille (Harold) Hawley, Surprise, Ariz.; Donna (Oliver) Smith, St. Paul, Minn.; and Joan Noah, Neillsville.


She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one brother, Joe.
Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
