Pekol, Helen (1880 - 1955)


GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--Mrs. Helen Pekol, a resident of Willard for 42 years, died of a heart attack at the Greenwood Clinic at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 1955. She was 74 years old.


Mrs. Pekol was born April 20, 1889 in Yugoslavia. She was married to Joseph Pekol, whose death occurred in March 1948. The Pekols came to Willard from Joliet, Ill. in 1913. The retired from farming in 1938 and moved to town.


She is survived by four sons, Joseph Pekol, Chicago Frank Pekol, Neillsville and Stanley and Edward Pekol, both of Willard three daughters, Mrs. Louis (Helen) Zulich, Loyal Mrs. John (Julia) Pernic, Willard and Sister M. Imelda, Pittsburgh, Pa. 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard, with the Rev. Augustine Svete officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.


Beginning this evening the body will repose at the Hill Funeral Home, where a brief services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Monday. A general rosary service will be held there at 8 p.m. Sunday.
