Johnstone, Martin Alfred (1884-1968)


GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY Martin Alfred Johnstone, 83, Greenwood, died at noon Saturday, July 13, 1968 at the Bethel Convalescent Home in Arpin, where he had resided for the past month.


Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hill Funeral Home here by the Rev. Arvid Myhrwold, pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


The body will repose at the funeral home from Tuesday afternoon until the time of services.


Mr. Johnstone was born Sept. 25, 1884, in Norway, and as a child came with his parents to the United States and settled in Chicago. His marriage to Anna Englebretson, who preceded him in death, took place at Greenwood Dec. 13, 1914.


After their marriage, the couple lived and farmed northeast of Greenwood.


Survivors are two sons, Archie, Greenwood and Albert, address unknown.


A son and a sister preceded him in death.
