Brown, Elizabeth Bertha (1886 - 1956)


GREENWOOD--Mrs. Bert C. Brown, 70, Greenwood, Clark County, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 1956 at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville, where she had been a patient for several months.
Services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Grace Methodist Church here. The Rev. Ethel Nulton will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Beginning Saturday afternoon, friends may call at the Stabnow Funeral Home.


The former Elizabeth Bertha Kruzer was born in Wheaton, Minn., Jan. 27, 1886, and was married to Mr. Brown Dec. 9, 1907, at Loyal. They lived at Greenwood until 1929 and then moved to Ojibwa, where he died Aug. 11, 1938. Mrs. Brown and children then returned to Greenwood, where she had since resided.


Surviving children are Loren, Fargo, N.D. Mrs. George (Irene) Kielcineski and Gordon, Bergland, Mich. Bert, Greenwood, and Neil at home. Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Emma Kelley, Morehead, Minn., and Mrs. Anna New Coop, Billings, Mont., and five grandchildren.


Children deceased are Russell, Maud and Kermit, a paratrooper, who was killed in service July 13, 1944.
