Christie, Philip Henry (1888 - 1957)


GREENWOOD
--Services will be held her Friday at 2 p.m. at the Stabnow Funeral Home for Philip Henry Christie, 68, Riplinger, who died at 4:30 p.m. Monday, June 3, 1957, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, a few hours after being admitted.


The Rev. Charles Koch, pastor of Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, will conduct the services, and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Thursday morning.


Mr. Christie was born in Christie, Clark County, Aug. 24, 1888, and obtained his education at the Eaton Center School. For many years he operated a livery stable here and in 1930 went to Abbotsford, where he was employed as a garage mechanic for 21 years.. For the past five years he had lived in Riplinger and was employed at a box factory.


He is survived by his wife, the former Dimples Stafford, whom he married Nov. 25, 1944, at Owen and two brothers, Free Christie, Neillsville, and High Christie, Greenwood. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
