Steager, Lyle P. (1931 - 1997)


Lyle Peter Steager
, 66, Marshfield, formerly of Withee, Clark County, died Friday, Sept. 12, 1997 at 4:05 a.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital Hospice Care in Marshfield.


Funeral services were Sept. 15 at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen, with Rev. Paul Petersen and Mr. Bob Van de Loo officiating. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.


Lyle Steager was born Aug. 3, 1931 in Owen, the son of Peter and Pauline (Robertson) Steager. A single man, Lyle has resided at Sylvia's Resthaven in Marshfield the past three years. He was zealous with his activities in the Special Olympics and excelled in softball, basketball and bowling, and received many medals and trophies for his endeavors. He retired in 1996 from his work with the Opportunity Development Center in Marshfield.


Lyle will be sadly missed by his brother Arthur Steager of Racine 2 nieces, Cindy (Terry) Schlais of Oak Creek and Marti (Bill) Olson of Arpin 3 great-nephews and 1 great-niece.
Preceded in death by he father Peter Steager on Aug. 8, 1976 and mother Pauline Steager May 12, 1969 sister Evelyn Kamm in 1980 and nephew Peter Steager in 1968.


Pallbearers were: Bill Olson, Bill Sperling, Roy Svenson, Terry Schlais and Harry Bruckschlager.
