Poirier, Carol Marie (1941 - 1960)


GREENWOOD
--Carol Marie Poirier, 18, of Owen, Clark County, died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 1960, in St. Mary's Hospital at Wausau, where she was admitted Sunday evening after having suffered a stoke while tobogganing at Perkinstown that afternoon. She underwent surgery Monday.


Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Grace Methodist Church. The Rev. Darrel Bush, a teacher at the West Beaver Chapel, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Ethel Nulton. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Friends may call at the Hill Funeral Home here until 11 a.m. Thursday, when the body will be taken to the church.


Miss Poirier was born Dec. 20, 1941, at Wittenberg, the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Graham Poirier. She attended schools there and at Greenwood. The family lived in several Wisconsin localities and came to the Greenwood area from Merrillan in 1954.


Surviving besides her parents are two brothers, Orin and Edwin, and three sisters, Mary Lou, Shirley and Ruth, all at home and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wincentsen of Wittenberg.
She was preceded in death by a twin sister and a brother.
