McCarty, Jessie (1875 - 1963)


GREENWOOD--Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Grace Methodist Church for Mrs. Almond H. McCarty, 87, Saginaw, Mich., a former Greenwood, Clark County resident, who died in a hospital there Thursday evening, April 11, 1963, after a two-week illness. The Rev. Gene Carlson will officiate and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Friends may call at the Hill Funeral Home Monday until 11 a.m., then at the church.


The former Jessie Barr was born Oct. 5, 1875 in Otter Lake, Mich., and came to the Greenwood area as a small child with her parents. She attended schools here and was married April 7, 1899, in the Town of Longwood, to Almond H. McCarty, who died May 7, 1937. The couple farmed at Longwood until his death. Since that time she had resided with her daughter, Mrs. Howard Farwell, in Saginaw, Mich.


Survivors include a son, Allan, Fond du Lac two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Violet) Farwell and Miss Elizabeth McCarty, both of Saginaw, Mich., and three grandchildren.
