McConnell, Robert (1882 - 1966)


GREENWOOD--Robert McConnell, 84, former Greenwood, Clark County resident, died early this morning, May 19, 1966 at the Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, where he had been a patient the past two weeks.


Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood. The Rev. Carl Booher, pastor of Grace Methodist Church, Greenwood, will officiate, and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


The body will repose at the funeral home from Friday afternoon until time of services.


Mr. McConnell was born April 2, 1882, in Greenwood and was married here June 12, 1907, to Isabelle Peterson. The couple farmed in the Greenwood area until their retirement in 1943, when they moved to the city of Greenwood. Since 1963, they had resided at the Memorial Home in Neillsville.


In addition to his wife, survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Edna) Hubert, Milwaukee; a son, Roy McConnell, Beloit; a sister, Mrs. Freeman Christie, Neillsville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.


A daughter, Mrs. Ole (Mabel) Sather, preceded him in death Oct. 21, 1962.
