VERA FREEMAN


Vera Freeman, 93, Spencer, Clark County, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 1990 at Marshfield Living Center, Marshfield. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 5, 1990, at Spencer United Methodist Church. Rev. Kenneth Barnes officiated. Burial was in West Spencer Cemetery.


Vera (Dike) Freeman was born Dec. 22, 1896, in Hebron, Ill. to Cyrus and Rhonda Ann (Darling) Dike. She married Harold Freeman on June 16, 1917, at Harvard, Ill. They lived in Woodstock, Ill., and then moved to the Spencer area. She was a member of the Spencer United Methodist Church.


Surviving are her husband, two sons, Russell, Marshfield; Robert, Marshfield; five daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Baldwin, Marshfield; Mrs. Eugene (Virgene) Hopkins, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Robert (Vera) Keyes, Minneapolis, Minn;. Mrs. Glenn (Lucille) Thieme, Libertyville, Ill.; Mrs. Kenneth (Lois) Mellenthin, Spencer; 28 grandchildren 46 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.


Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister and one grandson.


Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, handled the arrangements.
