WILLIAM GOEKE


William Goeke, 83, of Route 2, Greenwood, Clark County, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, at 1:30 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 20, 1977.


Funeral services for William Goeke were conducted at Immanuel United Church of Christ at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23. Rev. Larry Davis officiated. Mrs. Leona Albert was the organist and the congregation sang.


Interment was in the West Side Cemetery. Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, was in charge of arrangements.


William Goeke was born to August and Lena Goeke on June 26, 1894 at Manitowoc. He received his education in rural Manitowoc schools.


He was married in West Side on May 28, 1920 to Lydia Decker. They farmed in the Town of Warner, retiring in 1959, when he moved to the City of Greenwood until 1969, when he moved back to the farm to live with his son.


He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ.


Surviving his are two sons, Gerald of Pewaukee and Harvey of Route 2, Greenwood one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Alice) Dusso of Madison one sister, Mrs. Emma Kuester of Greenwood four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia, in 1953 and one great-grandchild.


Serving as pallbearers were Arnold Decker, Walter Decker, William Dusso, James Dusso, Gerald Goeke and Michael McHone.
