CLUTE FUNERAL TO BE HELD ON FRIDAY
FORMER RESIDENT OF GREENWOOD DIES TUESDAY AT MINNEAPOLIS


Greenwood--Mrs. Curtis H. Clute, about 80, a former resident of Greenwood, Clark County, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 1947 at Swedish Hospital, Minneapolis, where she was a patient for seven weeks.


Funeral services will be held at Grace Methodist Church, Greenwood, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Lee H. Holmes officiating. The body will arrive from Minneapolis Friday morning and will lie in state at the church until the time of the services.


Mrs. Clute, the former Delia Babcock, was married to Curtis Clute at Mauston Nov. 7, 1888, and lived at Janesville and La Crosse before coming to Greenwood in 1895. Her husband, who died in Feb. 1938, had engaged in real estate and in the insurance business. Shortly after his death, Mrs. Clute went to Minneapolis to make her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William J. B. Datz.


She was a charter member of the Greenwood American Legion Auxiliary and the Royal Neighbors of America, and also the Methodist Ladies Aid Society.


Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Datz, six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Two sons preceded her in death, Richard in 1926 and Leon in 1946.
