EDWIN STEIGER, 53, DIES THIS MORNING


HEART ATTACK CAUSES DEATH OF GREENWOOD RESIDENT RITES NOT SET


Greenwood--Edwin Steiger, 53, who was in poor health the past three years, died at 6 o'clock this morning, Mar. 15, 1948 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, the result of a heart attack. He entered the hospital March 9.


Tentative funeral arrangements include services Thursday afternoon at the Steiger home, followed by another service at the West Side Evangelical and Reformed Church. The Rev. J.C. Klingeberger will conduct the rites and burial will be made in the West Side Cemetery.


The body will lie in state at the Schiller Funeral home until Wednesday, when it will be taken to the Steiger home.


Mr. Steiger was born in La Crosse May 6, 1894 and was married Sept. 14, 1916 at the West Side Evangelical and Reformed Church in Greenwood to Ella Reineking. He came here from La Crosse with his parents when hew as four years old and after his marriage settled on the present Steiger farm, 4 miles northwest of Greenwood, Clark County.
